In A few basics for travelling with a caravan Part 1 we gave you the first set of tips and considerations to bear in mind when planning a caravan trip. Now we'll move on to the second part, which is particularly useful when bringing your caravan through warmer environments like North West Australia:
1) If the air is dusty or the view is obscured in some way where you are driving, then slow down, stay in your lane and refrain from overtaking.
2) Pay attention to fire restrictions and bans and only light a fire in designated pits and areas.
3) Don't enter private property without express permission from the owners.
4) Leave areas as you find them, bring all rubbish with you and leave gates as you find them.
5) Only camp in clearly designated areas and reduce your speed at all waterways.

It always pays to refresh your memory and go back over the basics before setting off on your next caravan adventure. Here's the first part of our extensive caravanning checklist:
If you've already bought a caravan then it's likely that you know what the advantages are of having one, but if you're still mulling over the idea of getting one we've put together this handy list of reasons why it's the ideal way to travel:
Eat when you want: When you're doing a road trip with a caravan you never need to worry about finding a restaurant or fuelling station to stop at to get a snack, you've got your own food and your own kitchen right there with you.
Bring the animals: It's your space so you don't have to think about people getting bothered by your dogs for example. No more kennels or dogsitters needed.
Pack as much as you want: You don't have to consider the weight restrictions involved with air travel so bring toys, car seats and whatever else you want with no added stress.
Enjoy the view: There's no better way to take in the countryside than with a relaxed and leisurely drive with a caravan.
