It always pays to refresh your memory and go back over the basics before setting off on your next caravan adventure. Here's the first part of our extensive caravanning checklist:
1) Don't drive tired, it's dangerous for you and your passengers. Pull over and take a short rest.
2) Check your caravan and towing vehicle thoroughly before starting your trip.
3) Keep an eye out for stray animals on the road, and for debris, especially around sunrise and sunset.
4) It's generally advised that in the case of a breakdown the whole party should stay at the vehicle and try to conserve resources.
5) Respect the conditions on the road and the capabilities of your towing vehicle. Don't go over the speed limit.
